October 1, 2020 – Lots of stuff to report!
🛸 The online magazine, Shadows of Your Mind, dropped their eighth free-to-download issue. Project Blue Book dominates the cover. Inside is a multi-page interview with show creator David O’Leary. Here’s just one quote, and you’ll find new photos of Aidan Gillen, Michael Malarkey, Laura Mennell and Ksenia Solo as well.
But you hit it absolutely on the head, the chemistry between Aidan and Michael, their friendship – both onscreen and offscreen – is what drove the ship. It made the show what it was. We scoured the earth to find who we felt were the best people and we cast Aidan before anybody because we needed to find our Hynek first. Right after that, it was like ‘Who’s our Quinn?’
🛸 History Channel released another Project Blue Book game entitled ‘The Montana Skyrockets.’ You can download it for either Apple or Android phone platforms at https://www.history.com/project-blue-book-the-game?cmpid=email-hist-show-content-2020-0925-09252020&om_rid=dd59327478eb019a96bc6dcd61f30c0d3c1045b93c55e23726cac4b4d1e3cc65. Now if they’d change their mind and give us season 3 of the show…!
🛸 Michael Malarkey is continuing his Twitch chats. On October 2nd, he’ll chat (and possibly sing), so don’t miss out. Subscribers can view videos afterwards. Click on https://www.twitch.tv/michaelmalarkeyofficial for full details!
Also, October 2nd is “Bandcamp Friday.” Bandcamp is a fantastic online source for indie musicians and Michael’s music is represented there at https://michaelmalarkey.bandcamp.com/. Michael will be releasing two new songs tomorrow:
Track 1. Green Light’ (unreleased track from the #Graveracer sessions)

🛸 Principal photography of the Aidan Gillen film Barber has wrapped. It was filmed in and around Dublin, Ireland. http://www.iftn.ie/rep_bodies/repbodiesnews/?act1=record&only=1&aid=73&rid=4293652&tpl=archnews&force=1 described the plot as follows: “Val Barber, a private investigator, is hired by a wealthy widow to locate her missing granddaughter. The film is set in Dublin against the background of a global pandemic. Barber’s initial investigations into Sara’s disappearance quickly darken. Secrets start surfacing in unexpected ways. Before too long, Barber finds himself entangled with powerful men of shady morals determined to thwart his investigations. Has he bitten off more than he can chew?” You can read more at the link above, as well as at the article at https://scannain.com/irish/barber-shoot-wraps/ .
🛸 Laura Mennell posted this lovely photo of herself on her Instagram page.
Jerod Haynes (Agent Banks) is getting ready for the Fall-Winter seasons, showing off his hoodie. He’s also in the new TV short “Crashing Together”. See IMDB listing at https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11910328/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_1). No word on when it will air or which platform.
🛸 Gillian Pearson, Project Blue Book’s visual effects producer, has landed a new position of lead studio manager at Ghost VFX, a known hub of visual effects and animation in Vancouver, B.C. “In her new capacity, Pearson will oversee the day-to-day operations including recruiting a new team of top-tier talent, and overall studio management.” Full details at https://www.awn.com/news/ghost-vfx-opens-vancouver-bc-studio-part-global-expansion-strategy.
🛸 Ever wonder how they did that incredible ship scene at the beginning of “Operation Mainbrace“? The folks at Stormborn Studios who did the VFX describe how the scene was created in this video interview:
🛸 Actor Zach McGowan, who played the shifty Duncan Booker in season 2’s “Roswell Incident” episodes, guest starred in two episodes of Fox TV’s “L.A.’s Finest” show. The first episode (the pilot) has already aired. You can watch it on video on demand. The second episode (“Con Air”) will air on October 5th at 8:00pm EDT.
