Project Blue Book: #SAVEBLUEBOOKSATURDAY! Saturday, June 13, 2020

If you’re a fan of PROJECT BLUE BOOK, now is your chance to let the studios (Netflix, Amazon, etc.), the ones that could possibly pick up the series for a third season, to know we’re out there, vocal and a passionate audience!

We need to get #SAVEBLUEBOOK to trend, particularly on Twitter. This may make the studios take notice!

We ALL need to tweet… actually, as many tweets as you can (100 is the limit per hour, 1,000/day – anymore and then you get tossed in Twitter jail for 24 hours), so compose your tweet, make sure #SAVEBLUEBOOK is typed in there, attach your artwork, videos, etc. if you can. Attaching photos, GIFs, videos are “rich media” that attract more attention. If you’ve got space, add #ProjectBlueBook as that can’t hurt.

To get #SAVEBLUEBOOK to trend, we hope to try to get it done in the same time period. (Twitter’s algorithm determines what is trending by favoring sharp spikes rather than gradual sustained growth. Trends are determined by a combination of volume and how much time it takes to create volume.) But if you can’t do that, just tweet on Saturday. Every tweet counts!

We’ve chosen 5:00pm ET (New York City) time (or around that timeframe) as it gives people worldwide the best chance to tweet live. You can see how to match up your time zone with this time zone converter:  https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html. We all want to tweet on the ‘same’ Saturday if at all possible. 😊

If you access Twitter via a web browser (not phone), you can use Twitter’s new “Schedule Tweet” button in case you’re away, at work, etc. You can skip this tip if you don’t use a PC for Twitter.

  1. Compose your tweet (A)
  2. Schedule your tweet (B) so the date is June 13 and the time is 5:00pm (or close to it) NY time. Click CONFIRM.
  3. You’ll be sent back to the tweet, which you can then exit.
  4. If you want to check, just click on UNSENT TWEETS in upper right corner (or start a new tweet and you’ll see UNSENT TWEETS). (C) Confirm time/date and then back out. You’re all set!

If you have a bunch of tweets you want to send, you can compose them, and schedule to send out every five minutes to help build up volume. If we can get all our tweets posted around 5:00 PM ET, we stand a chance to get #SAVEBLUEBOOK to trend.

If you’re unsure of using this Schedule Tweet button, no problem – just make sure your tweet gets posted on Saturday, preferably around 5:00pm ET/New York City time period.

Do you need photos? You can visit the photo galleries at http://thebluebookfiles.com/, or check Twitter, Instagram, and other social media for Project Blue Book photos. Make your own or just write a tweet. Over the past two seasons, both https://twitter.com/HistoryBlueBook and https://twitter.com/HistoryTVCanada have posted lots of photos and short videos. If nothing else, just tweet #SAVEBLUEBOOK.

Instagram users: make your posts, encourage anybody who visits to post on Saturday (New York City time zone) as well.

Facebook users:  we need History to see our campaign. Their FB page for Project Blue Book appears to be static, but their main page – https://www.facebook.com/HISTORY/ – is active. You don’t need to join/like/follow the page, but you do need a FB account to post. So on Saturday, find the most current post, no matter what it is, and just simply comment #SAVEBLUEBOOK.

And that’s it! We’ll be watching Twitter to see if it trends but if anybody sees it happens, please screencap!
